Seems to be a London thing but spreading fast, the short answer is using a video phone to record your mate slapping a random stranger (aim is to catch someone unawares; asleep or facing the oppsite direction) then distributing it by bluetooth. It's kind of like trading cards, collect them all! Some are hard not to laugh at and are mostly harmless, some are disturbing and would be serious assult charges, gangs of guys violently slapping women, that kind of thing. Started with young black gangs but spreading fast, usually happens on busses, often late at night. And people wonder why I keep my keys in my hand....

That's crazy, but not unexpected considering the British government's ongoing struggle to neuter their citizens.

That belongs in the WTF thread. As in why the F would you willingly let anyone do that to you?? Hopefully it knocked some sense INTO her...

Let me just be the first to say I think it's staged. If you stop on the right frame you can see he hits her with his wrist, which is the way stage slaps are often done, and her fall isn't quite right either. And besides, no one ever got knocked out by a slap, you have to get hit pretty damn hard to get knocked out.

I dunno what's more disturbing...the fact that she's stupid enough to do it...or that they're watching the Cosby show while they beat each other.

What annoys me is when something like this comes out and then there are attempts to squash it for fear of influencing supposedly weak-minded people to commence a mass wife-beating campaign that would never have happened if it wasn't for blablabla. Clearly people are able to make their own minds up, their own reactions to something silly like this (as demonstrated above) and if they do respond with a copycat reaction then they would be naturally inclined to wife-beat (or whatever) anyway and so the article/video/tv program has had no influence whatsoever.

Not that I'm annoyed, exactly. Just a bit bored and wanted something to rant about.
