3/10/2005: Record surf
http://cellar.org/2005/surfrecordout.jpg
First they rode it out... http://cellar.org/2005/surfrecord.jpg Then their friends jumped on, a bunch of World Championship Tour surfers and locals surfers... and they rode it, the world's longest surfboard, and set an unofficial Guinness World Record of 47 surfers. "...On the 40-foot board shaped by Gold Coast shaper Nev Hyman at Snapper Rock on the Gold Coast, Saturday, March 5, 2005. The record attempt is part of the 'Tsunamirun,' a charity set up to raise funds for Tsunami victims." |
The second photo looks like it's being towed.
|
I can't decide if a surfing-themed charity for the tsunami is appropriate, creepy, or both...
|
HM - i thinkyou are right, that would be like a model airplane club having a charity for 9/11.
|
I reckon if they busted their asses it would be called HANG 470.........
|
You can see a rope on the way out, too.
|
Strange that rope isn't trailing but seems to be leading.

Sandra[/quote]Hey, Seattle qualifies as "West" of a lot of other places, and we have this.
OH well--I am from Montana--Belgrade, actually. We have things like canoes & kayaks but I haven't seen a lot of racing sculls around. I do know there is a lady over in Helena that does a lot of it. Sandra |
Pssst..wrong thread. ;)

Aw, c'mon out. We all do it occasionally.

Who's the lucky one to have the string attached to his leg so you dont
loose the board when you fall into the water. :D |
