some rad ski pics
So, considering it was Easter weekend, why go to church when you can go to Vermont? The opportunity to go to Okemo presented itself last week, and considering I have not skied this entire winter, I figured there was no time better than the present. My friend (whose place we stayed) is also fucking crazy, so I knew bringing along a camera would be requisite. The downside is that while I got awesome shots of him, he was lacking skills in photography and missed the two or three times I risked my life for a decent picture. After completely busting ass (yard sale) on an ariel jump, I threw in the towel and settled for what photos I had of him. bastard.
Nice scenery. http://www.supdogg.com/vt.jpg The one shot he managed to take with appropriate timing, although not very spectacular. http://www.supdogg.com/wang.jpg Now here is my friend being absurd. Enjoy. http://www.supdogg.com/tdogg.jpg http://www.supdogg.com/td2.jpg http://www.supdogg.com/td3.jpg http://www.supdogg.com/td4.jpg http://www.supdogg.com/td5.jpg |
I see the edge of the "ramp" is helpfully painted red ... or is that the blood of previous unsuccessful jumpers?
|
Sounds like flying. Is it dangerous? I really want to try it.

The third of the series really puts what the jumper is actually feeling in perspective. Kind of like watching someone on a high dive board. Doesn't look so bad from the deck, but damn scary when your about to be the jumpee. Neat pics, beautiful outlooks. Thanks. I am officially jealous :)

And to top it all ... BN's a text-journalist, not a photo-journalist.
Damn fine pics. |
If I tried that, my skis would be crossed and my arms flailing widly, too...but not on purpose.
|
Ahhhh ... I'll add more photos of the chaos later. I even found one of myself coming off one of the larger ramps, but it's sort of blurry. Dunno if it will be salvageable.
The winner is a series of my friend doing a helicopter off the last (and largest) jump in the terrain park. He landed it the first time he tried, but on his second (and last) try, he lost his rotation in mid-air, hit the landing almost perpendicular to the slope and slid head-first about 50 yards. He said his head was ringing for a while, but, sorry wolf, no blood involved this trip. :) The last two shots are my favorites. For the very last, I laid down beneath the ramp and had another friend give a countdown, which sounded like, "5 ..... 4 ... 3-2-1." I just pushed the button - and managed to catch him in the center of the pic. That one is definitely going on my wall. |
Hey thanks BN, love to see private versions of "Jackass"
