Now, see, if I wanted to go all high-falutin', I'd say how propaganda posters have sometimes been celebrated as a serious type of art. If they're effective, the artist is familiar with all kinds of styles and works them into the poster in ways that may be quite subtle and such.

Instead, let's just say: hey, that's kinda funny, eh?

(Apologies for having no Xmas image but I was deathly ill with the residuals of an Xmas-eve panic attack.)

That sort of looks like Barney from that old show (forget the name....town was Mayberry...they whistled during the credits, help me out here)

Undertoad 12-26-2001 02:47 PM

Barney Fife, Mayberry R.F.D.! I hadn't even noticed that... good catch!

dave 12-26-2001 03:01 PM

Heh. That's actually the first thing I noticed. I figured that was a good bit of the reason why you found it funny. :)

First thing i noticed was the SS letering from the (i'm sure i don't have to point it out but..) Nazi SS unit, goy some people take htese things very seriously don't they.

NAd isit me or if you got a $15 an HOUR pay rise wouldn't you be more likely to do a better job?

elSicomoro 12-26-2001 07:13 PM

*looks again*

Shit...that went over my head. Thanks for pointing that out...heh.

Now seriously...is that guy in the pic (or at least the face) Don Knotts?

That Guy 12-27-2001 07:38 AM

It is definitely a PS'ed picture of Don Knotts. An interesting thing I noticed is if you say this aloud, it sounds like "farce," only with a Boston accent. Probably just a mere coincidence...

"Use the FAASS..."

Absolutely Delightful.

This was a multi-faceted stroke of photo-shopping brilliance.

Is there a place I can get a larger copy of this (higher res)? I think this is one that I'd like to print and show friends.

Undertoad 12-27-2001 02:31 PM

I don't know. This was the highest rez version on the site where I got it (everlastingblort.com).
