Peaceful, happy Kurdistan

http://cellar.org/2005/produceaisle.jpg

This produce aisle is better stocked with better-looking fruits than my local supermarket. Where is it located? Dohuk, Kurdistan, northern Iraq, where there are also electronics stores with massive flat-screen TVs, computer stores, bustling marketplaces, peaceful countryside and a very happy and optimistic people.

From the same gent who took the image of the soldier comforting the dying Iraqi girl, Michael Yon.

This propaganda is brought to you by the Committee for a Different Narrative on Iraq. Please take it with a grain of salt. Thank you

Kirkuk has been a bit rough but otherwise the Kurdish area has been pretty peaceful, it doesn't suffer from the same ethnic problems that are ripping the rest of the country to shreds. If they try and break away however the shit might really hit the fan 'kurdistan' includes swaths of Turkey that Turkey would be severely not amused about losing.

That produce looks better than the crap in my local Shop Rite.

so, the obvious solution is to kill them all and take their produce. no more nasty little ethnic issues, no more insurrection, miles and miles of available real estate, oil on the cheap, and the real kicker... fresh produce!

Rolls of those tear-off plastic bags just like here......only theirs are on the floor. :eyebrow:

The peacefulness will end on the day the Iraqis try to enter Kurdish territory, me thinks.

But we're all trying to think of Kurds as Iraqis.

wolf 06-08-2005 12:38 PM

Who you callin' we, white woman?

I don't, as indicated in my post. Kurds live in an area that Iraqis think is theirs. The Iraqis are mistaken.

It's kind of like Palestine v. Israel, only without the political manipulation of the Palestinians by every other surrounding Arabic country.

As demonstrated by the nature and description of the initial post and topic, we would include The Committee for a Different Narrative on Iraq among others who recognize Iraq's current national borders. Iraqi is a national designation, Kurd is, currently in Northern Iraq, a majority ethnic designation.
