Legislature passes buck Again!

We have a law about tinted windows, but no enforcement. So as to be PC and not offend any of the black voters, they passed it on to the inspection people. I can go to many places and the only thing they ask for is a DL. Then they slap it on. No motor, lights, brakes, who cares. Same for insurance laws. I can buy a car, a license plate and a inspection sticked with out ever showing proof of insurance. This From Sunday paper says the meter will cost around 500 bucks. Hell I found some on internet for around 100 bucks, and I have no idea what they'er named. :rar:

Yeah, well, you notice it's the service station owner that's claiming the meters cost $500. He is opposed to the new law, which is a hassle for him, so of course he will exaggerate a bit on how expensive it will be. He also says he has to inspect 500 cars to make back that $500 cost of equiment. But he gets $2 per car. So it's really 250 cars he needs to inspect.

I have a feeling this service station owner is just making this stuff up.

Also, if they are going to pass a law about tinted windows, and they want to enforce it, the inspection center is the logical place to do it. That way it applies evenly to every car, not just on the whim of the cops on the street.

You know, it just so happens that I had a discussion about tinted windows with a coworker who moved here to Pennsylvania from Florida.

I was sort of curious what the laws were here. I knew some kinds of tinted windows were illegal, but I don't know the specifications or how the law is enforced.

In Florida, tinted windows are a necessity unless you want to bake a chicken in your car while you're out shopping.

Usually the state will specify what testing equipment is acceptable and they might be $500 after kick backs to the politicians.
The inspections don't want to piss people off. They're the one that has to deal with the customer face to face. :boxers:

The pizza delivery chick at work just got a new ride (not off patient tips, though, that's for sure) and she got drug dealer privacy windows on front and back.

I thought you couldn't have 'em on front window in PA? I'm either wrong, or the place that installed the film got her to pay for two extra windows that she's going to have to strip soon.

In MO, you used to have to have a permit for any tinted windows. Not anymore. I'm not sure how much tint you can have, but I think my brother has the legal limit on his truck.

Tinted windows is on my "to have" list for my car.
