Google adsense on IotD blog view page

I've put Google ads on the IotD blog view. All proceeds to benefit the Cellar.

If it makes more than $5 a month, I shall report the results here.

Apparently the keyword it has picked for today's IOTD is the Virgin Mary... WTF?

Please excuse my ignorance, how exactly does one get money from putting ads on their site?

I was about to reply, but I realize I don't fully know the answer myself. Will Google pay UT more if we click on the links? If so, is it much more? Is it worth my time to go click happy and send a few more pennies UT's way?

More clicks = more $$. (I personally have amassed $7.40 in google ad revenue (which is not enough for them to cut me a check yet!) in about 20 months. Considering that my pages have little useful info, haven't been updated in ages, and are hardly advertised anywhere, I was basically curious to see if the about was greater than 0 and was somewhat surprised that it was.)

Having said that . . .

Notwithstanding the foregoing, Google shall not be liable for any payment based on (a) any amounts which result from invalid queries or invalid clicks on Ads generated by any person, bot, automated program or similar device, as reasonably determined by Google, including without limitation through any clicks or impressions (i) originating from Your IP addresses or computers under Your control or (ii) solicited by payment of money, false representation or request for end users to click on Ads

Well, then, I won't go click happy, unless I see something I like.
