Fallen Glendale Marines
 

There were 19 Marines from the Cincinnati area killed in Iraq recently and on my way home one night I found this memorial to some of them.

To all Marines along with the countless others that have sacraficed their time, energy, or lives ...I sincerely thank you.

You are all truly heros and will not be forgotten.

I would never be hardass enough to be a Marine, but I'm glad there are hardass people out there who are hardass enough.

A warrior-scowl engraved on a face that has never seen a razor. And this face on a memorial, because its owner took a bullet or bomb for his country. That's somber.

Now that I'm >35, recruit-aged soldiers look like babies to me. And every last one of them could break my arms off. /cognitive dissonance

One of my buddies from OU is shipping out this fall for his first tour, he's in the reserves, not sure what unit. And my new roomate for school this fall just got back from 6 months over there.. the violent sands of Iraq to a small Christian school of 1,700 in Ohio has got to be a big adjustment to make.
I've considered signing up due to the amount of respect I have for these guys, and that I know the Army or Marines can always use more recruits. I don't know if it will ever happen though.. I could just wait for the draft
