What's in the water?

If true, this could be bad -- very bad.

Summary: At the very least, there are two Level-3 biolabs in New Orleans and a cluster of three in nearby Covington. They have been working with anthrax, mousepox, HIV, plague, etc. There are surely other labs in the city.

One would hope that such things are sealed in waterproof containers when not in use.

One would really, really, hope that.

One would hope that there are certain safegards in place in case of disaster in a bio-lab. Ya, this is a potential problem, but not as bad as the article likes to portray.

They've probably just got the stuff sitting around in Tupperware containers, old milk jugs and jelly jars with Saran Wrap stretched over the top.

That's how it works in my fridge, anyway...and some of that stuff looks pretty nasty.

makes it sound like they'll have a bunch of mutated and diseased new orleaneans running around shooting lasers from their eyes and picking up cars and throwing them at people.
geez its just a little anthrax

Aren't there a lot of Chemical processing plants in NOLA?

One more thing's for sure: There's a LOT of oil in the water. At last estimate about half of what was spilled in the Exxon Valdez catastrophe. I know you all have plenty else to worry about, but friends, 5 million plus gallons of oil is a big problem.

It'll help keep in mosquitoes down.
You can see oil on the water in almost every picture of the flooding. :(
