#1 Song on the Day You Were Born
What was the number one song on your birthday??
The UK pop charts began in 1952 & the US charts in 1955. If you were born before these dates, try your life's theme song which is the No.1 on your 18th birthday US: The Twist - Chubby Checker UK: The Young Ones - Cliff Richard and the Shadows Never heard the UK hit. I decided that my life's theme song based on my 18th birthday Just didn't work. It was some KC and the Sunshine Band tune (Please Don't Go) that I never heard of. The British Chart Topper was Another Brick in the Wall - Pink Floyd, which is certainly good. My 21st birthday US #1 song, however, was Down Under - Men at Work. That I'm cool with. |
0th birthday: Take Good Care Of My Baby - Bobby Vee
18th birthday: My Sharona - The Knack 21st birthday: Maniac - Michael Sembello All crap. That explains why I listen to so little pop / mainstream radio. sheesh. |
I have a feeling I'm going to regret this but the #1 song on the day I morphed into a gurgling blob of ectoplasm was...
I’m Sorry - Brenda Lee And the hits just keep on comin' :sniff: |
Feb. 29, 1964-The Beatles-I wanna hold your hand
:lovers: |
Top song when I was born:
US: Say You Say Me - Lionel Richie UK: The Sun Always Shines On TV - A-Ha I guess it's a little funny too since I was born on a Sunday. Alliterative goodness! 18th Birthday: Hey Ya - Outkast; All This Time - Michelle I n'vr heard these two songs... and that was just last year -___- Oh well. |
A Hard day’s Night - The Beatles
Both charts. I think Mom would agree. |
Sherry - The Four Seasons, for my 18th.
She’s Not You - Elvis Presley, across the pond The House Of The Rising Sun - The The Animals, for my wedding Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones, in merry old England Hang On Sloopy - The McCoys, for my 21st Tears - Ken Dodd, in the mother country Delta Dawn - Helen Reddy, for my wedding ;) Eye Level - The Simon Park Orchestra, O'r there. |
"Sugar, sugar" by the Archies for my 18th (HATED that song!)
"Bad Moon Rising" by Creedance Clearwater Revival across the pond. |

Alone Again (Naturally) - Gilbert O’Sullivan Puppy Love - Donny Osmond 18 Vision Of Love - Mariah Carey Turtle Power - Partners In Kryme 21 Can't Help Falling In Love - UB40 Pray - Take That I'm dissapointed, I've never heard any of these songs but I'm sure they all suck. (although I assume the UB40 tune is an elvis cover, I've only ever heard their Red, Red wine, so that's probably not too bad). Is July a bad month for music or what? |
