ZZ Top!
I got a line on being the bassist in a ZZ Top tribute band if I want it. I do want it! I think it would be a total, TOTAL gas!
"No beard required" hehe. First I need to buy about $1500 in gear though, which is money I don't have. Still, there's a chance a job offer could come through for me this week or next. The problem is, my voice isn't high enough to sing "Tush" and I'm not sure you have a ZZ Top tribute band if you don't have "Tush". I can sing other Dusty Hill songs, just not "Tush". Hmm. |

Tug on your testicles firmly...that should help.
I can't picture you doing ZZ Top songs, but what the hell...go for it. |

Well I don't go in for the 80s ZZ Top, but the 70s ZZ Top was searing. "La Grange", "Waitin' For the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago", "I Thank You", etc. "Tush" is too bad-ass for my taste but the rest of it is blues plus.
Whether it would really work would be up to how good the guitarist is, which I don't know yet. |

Will you have to decorate your bass with cotton?

Yeah, and get one of those guitar straps that lets you actually spin the instrument!

And you have to look just like the guitarist...you'll need a cowboy hat...and dark sunglasses.
Then you have to sing "Cheap Sunglasses." |

Once you get by ZZ tops "pop" albums which I love, they get into some real good blues. Blues groupies are hot.

Jesus Christ, can't you see the boy's excited as it is? You might give him a heart attack by putting chicks into the mix.

Well, if you have one of these , you can make plenty of noise. I lost my picture of Gen posing with it so you have to settle for Mean Dean.
Not a bad piece of equipment for $599 and $50 more for the hard case. Brian

Hey Toad! Cool news! The older ZZ is very groovy greasy stuff. Nasty ass Texas sound- yer right, it rides on the guitar. (this from a hot blues groupie Even if they dont branch out a bit, hell, you can. Remember: Everyone needs a bass.
