New Earth at Night imagery from NASA
https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard...e-applications
Somehow this happened and I wasn't notified, which means that this Internet thing they came up with is not working correctly. But it does give us a fresh new set of 2016 Earth at Night images which are outstanding. Except that they look pretty similar to the 2012 version. Cos we h'ain't really moved around all that much. I downloaded the 266 MB JPEG they offer, of the entire world view; and that is interesting cos it's 21600x10800 in size. And you can zoom in on stuff... and still get pretty good resolution... |

Korea at night. The peach fuzz at the bottom is ships. The dot in North Korea is Pyongyang. The bright sector at the top left is the Chinese border.
