Dick Clark has Stroke

Ok, if Dick Clark is out of the picture, who is going to host the New Year's Eve fest in Time Square??? If Clark isn't there, will we even have a New Year or will we be stuck in 2004 until he can recover??? what do we do, what do we do?

Click for Dick

The man is 75, it shouldn't be a shock. Still he's cool and I hope he recovers.

Dick Clark is so old, he went to a fortune teller and she said in a previous life he was....Dick Clark.

But ... but ... but ... he's timeless!

The maid must have thought the picture in the attic was just old trash and got rid of it.

The event could be hosted by his replica from The Hollywood Wax Museum ... or perhaps digitally enhanced footage of previous years.

Or maybe pixar could throw something together.

Miss America survived the loss of Bert Parks, and Guy Lombardo ain't playin' on New Year's Eve no more. I remember when Dick Clark was the newer, hipper, alternative ... the Rockin' New Year's concept was not immediately embraced.

Just so long as they don't get Conan O'Brien to host anything. I really fucking hate Conan O'Brien, mostly for failing to be humorous.

i'm picturing one of the idiots like the MTV guy that was on TRL that all the 12 year girls liked... what was his name? Carson Daily

or even worse, Ryan Seacrest.

it is just like the election, if we are going to replace the old guy, we better have something better to put in there. unfortunately, i don't see any better choices here either.

Bite your tongue! Nah, hopefully, he'll be too busy playing Casey Kasem on "America's Top 40".

Sad, but true.

Dick Clark is one of those people that is definitely going to get one of my pining, sappy obits when he goes. Talk about a cultural icon.

The New Years Eve shows have been lame as hell for years, but I still tune in to see Dick Clark. Some traditions just demand attention.

I hear Dick Clark is a vampire that has to drink the blood of a virgin who is over the age of 16 every year to remain young, but this year he just couldn't find a virgin.

the news is in and it is even worse than i feared.

*shudder*

Regis Philbin is filling in for Dick Clark and Ashlee Simpson will be hosting on the West Coast. couldn't they have gotten someone less annoying, even Gilbert Godfrey would be better and my ears bleed every time i hear his voice.

Let us hope that Regis was chosen so that we, the viewing audience, would understand that they don't intend for him to do this ever, ever again.

I didn't see the news, but my mom said that it was reported that there was some event that Regis couldn't do where Dick Clark subbed for him, and this is being done as payback.
