I'm baking cookies (sugar and c.c.) and ....that's about it.

What do you usually bake, Pooka?

I'm more of a cake baker than cookies... but I haven't done any in a long time. (During her first pregnancy, homemade pound cake was one of the few things Mrs. Dallas could eat.)

I'm gonna do a swedish rye, a linzer torte, (we have real lingon berries), and an onion herb bread. Maybe some savory cheddar muffins. The breads are going in our new community wood fired oven.

but they are nice and small files, and you can see what's going on in them, even if they do look a little rough.

A bunch of old hippies who know the whole point of smoking dope is to INHALE. And the birthplace of "Pie a la Mode"

Actually we live in an awesome village, there is a blog about it.
It is (aptly named, no doubt) http://cambridgebuzz.blogspot.com

Does it make me a bad person that when I look at that wonderful picture of small child with cookier cutter, part of me goes "awwww that's adorable" and another part of me thinks, "No way am i eating that gingerbread man...."

It used to take a herculean effort on my part to force down the crispie cakes, or fairy buns my darling nieces would hand me when they were little. Proud as punch they'd hand me what can only be described as mutilated biscuit creatures with suspiciously thumbprint-like icing smears, and I would try not to think about what I'd seen those chubby little hands doing ten minutes prior.
