Women you would vote for
The discussion about Hillary in the election thread made me wonder...
Who are some of the high profile women you would vote for as presidents if they were were candidates? Can you give some examples? (I am more interested to hear from those who appose Hillary, but this is addressed to everyone). |

To get this started... I am putting forth my obvious choice, Julia Galef.

I vote on politics, not gender.

There are a number of women I've met regionally who are in education and law who I'd vote for if they changed career paths. It is interesting that the way female politicians are presented through the media filter nationally seems to reduce their attractiveness. There is Olympia Snowe though, she'd be a damn good president. She'd be a great contrast to Trump...

Snowe is awesome. But she retired after the tea party nuts made it apparent that moderates had no future in DC.

My hope is that moderation could be sold to enough Republicans this time around. They just need the right person. Of course the insanity of the last debate flies in the face of that. I just referred a kid with special needs to planned parenthood for individualized sex education but I learned from the debate that all they do is slaughter babies, who knew?

Elizabeth Warren, but I'd rather she stay where she is than get a high-profile job for 4-8 years then disappear.

she's not high-profile, but...
I'd hire my sister.
She's smart, knows how to finagle (without trading off her principles), knows the value of a dollar (and how to spend them wisely), can navigate powers and personalities, and she won't hesitate to shoot someone in the face if they fuck with her and hers. I'm really not seein' any of that in the current crop of women (or men). |

The good news (Depending on where you stand) is that she will be the first president to ever win the war on drugs, nation wide. The bad news is that the white house will become the national evidence safe, and nobody but her will be allowed to go in there between 10pm to 2am, which is also the time where new regulations will demand turning off the smoke alarms. A new meal in the day will be introduced and served approximately 20 minutes after.
