New top level threads?

Don't know exactly who's sysop-ing the cellar, but is there a good place to suggest new top level thread categories? A category for Religion and Philosophy might be interesting.

Or possibly one to swap kim-chi recipes. Either way.

Sounds cool. (The Religion and Philosophy thing. NOT the kim-chee. I can't abide kim-chee. Yes, I've tried it. I usually have a very high tolerance for/appreciation of food from other cultures. The only thing kim-chee rated higher than for me was sushi. I think it should be a food challenge on Fear Factor.)

Shouldn't we just have "Religion & Politics" or "Politics and Religion"? Isn't that the way it is nowadays?

I agree that it's interesting, but will it see much action? Maybe it should replace the "Cities" area? And perhaps I am talking out of my ass.

I'm for a forum of a philosophical/religious nature, but I would go with the heading "Philosophy," as religion is basically a philosophy of sorts.

I don't think the Cities forum should be removed though. Though it does not get a lot of entries, it allows new users/visitors to learn about places with which they may be unfamiliar. It's like an unofficial chamber of commerce.

So this would go above Cities? Is there any dissent?

I'm thinking Syc's concept is best "Philosophy" with the sub-title being "Religions, schools of thought, matters of importance and navel-gazing."

What say?

How about a flamewar thread sin bin?

Philosophy forum sounds good, i'll be curious to see how much use it gets though.

That's probably the best way to keep things neat.

Give the bent of most thread trails on other subjects, I think this section might get a fair amount of play.

But since most threads end up becoming that only after starting as something else.....

     Oh my, yes.

Er... I mean, yes, that sounds like a good idea for a forum.
