I disagree. The packers should cut him loose, and let him go to whoever wants him. The only thing preventing that is their fear that he will embarrass them on field by putting up 31 points in the first game against them, proving he still belongs in the NFL.

He's like a bitchy, whining, indecisive ex girlfriend (that sadly still looks good sometimes).
Nobody should hook up with that, but someone will probably want a rebound from last season.

Only a team that is desperate for a quarter-back and not in the process of being built, would be interested in picking him up on a 1-2 year contract.
Maybe a team like the Vikings could use him.
With Adrian Peterson as running back, the passing game would be limited and un-expected... in this case, Favre would shine!
Minnesota would become a serious contender from the NFC.

He's cooked himself. Will someone pick him up? Absolutely. Does he deserve all this attention? No, but he's getting it which'll probably raise is price.

So ... what if he puts up another hall-of-fame season? Will that change all this pre-season hoopla? I think he's one of only a few players who is capable of changing an entire team's level of play, and that's not something to be dismissed lightly.

Got reinstated.

Question: Would other players in the same situation be reinstated or is it just because he had such a stellar year? I wonder.

He got reinstated just like any other player would. I don't think his year was that stellar, especially at the end, but I don't really think it matters either way. He probably won't play for the Packers anyway. He totally screws up their salary cap situation. They aren't gonna pay $12 million for a backup and can't afford to let Aaron Rogers sit any longer either.
It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I'm just puzzled as to why he bothered to retire at all. What...did he decide he needed another couple of zeroes added to the right side of his balance sheet?

Ever wonder what it's like to spend 38 years becoming one of the best of the world at something, and then walk away to never do it again?

I can understand why he wanted to come back.

I've spent 52 years just becoming sub par, so yeah, I wonder about that all the time...
