Weird Stats
Yankees are 8-0 in day games and 3-10 in night games. I'm thinking it is about age. Their eyes are not so good any more or they're just too old to be staying up late.

it's mostly about pitching ...johnson will mostly pitch daytime.
it also has to do with opponents |

I get the idea you still think of Johnson as a quality pitcher. Those days are mostly over. He'll throw an occasional gem now but mostly he's an over-size guy with really sore knees struggling with his mechanics these days. Aaron Small is coming off the DL. He'll throw strikes and give up more than a few runs but the Yanks should do some run scoring this year. I wonder if he'll get enough work to be effective? Mussina has been The Man so far this year.

agreed about mussina, but i can't say i agree about johnson, i think he'll have an amazing year ...just watch who'll be pitching in the crucial world series game. small is news to me, thanks for bringing it to my attention, i'll have to take a look at that.

Small did a number on Oakland last year in one of his first starts. It was impressive. He has great potential.

He's a guy who beat around the minors for years and learned his trade. He does not have over-powering stuff but he's a location guy who pitches to the park. Of course last year could have been a fluke.

it does look kinda bad, i've been lucky not to be holding him.
he looks sorta weak. i still believe that he'll pitch some good games by the end of the season. some of my opinions have changed though. i still think st.louis and houston will battle it out to the end, despite the st.louis lead, especially if clemens takes the astros uniform. the dodgers seem to be the most solid team in the nl west, although arizona may make a race out of it. forget about early leaders colorado. after watching the mets atlanta and phillie very closely, muy opinions have changed a lil' ...i don't think the mets will win it with as much ease as i thought, too many problems, if it wasn't for pedro, i'd have them 2nd for sure. the atlanta lineup is on fire, and i don't think it'll cool down anytime soon, i believe they're a much greater team than phillie, and may just catchup to the mets while they're in this terrible slump..the mets are not looking too goood on the field. finally regarding the cubs... i'm no fan, and although lee isn't due back till late july, i think the cubs will be starting to make a lil comeback starting right about now, so don't be disregarding them from this point and on, don't bet against them is what i mean. bet against the royals, bet against san diego. bet against detroit, unless verlander is pitching of course. ;] |

yeah, but last night he blew it, i don't like him, rivera should be back in soon enough, nothing serious....farnsworth is over payed.
and how about clemens ..astros it is, all eyes on him vs minnesota i think it's june 22nd or sth... my sources tell me that he is in absolute top form especially physically, expect 20 starts and at least 17 wins from him. |
