P90X
Is it really that good?
The package I see is $140 on Amazon. Is that what I'd want if I were going to do it? What sort of equipment is required? Looks like a pull up bar and push up stands at least? |

The program is outstanding. I've done it 2 1/2 times in the last two years. If you do P90X followed by insanity I can flat out guarantee you will drop pounds and have a massively different physique after it is over. It isn't difficult but it is hard. Adapt adapt adapt. If you can't do everything they do on screen adapt it to the amount/time you can do and push through.
I'm pretty sure you can pay considerably less than $140 if you buy it directly from beach body though. Of course, I'd be happy to burn a copy for you and send it to you if you'll commit to making a $50 donation to the tip jar. Honor system, of course.

My liver can barely keep up with garden variety madness. I doubt it could handle insanity.

My knees and ankles are so shot from soccer injuries that they always hurt anyway. I have an untreated meniscus tear that actually felt much better after Insanity than before. It really strengthened the surrounding muscles and took some of the strain off that lil bugger.

I've seen the commercials, and fuck.. .that dude is ripped. I think I'd be shredded instead. But I'm willing to give it a shot.
PM.

Greetings Lola Bunny, welcome to the cellar. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I hope you say similarly nice things at my wake.

I have my full support behind P90X. It goes after almost every muscle group in different ways and is easy enough to change according to your own goals. If you want to lose weight and tone, you can do that. If you want to get ripped and gain [some] muscle, you can do that. It is also easy to incorporate some P90X motions into other workouts.
Another thing I like is that it will force you start eating healthier. If you eat fast food before a workout there is a very good chance you won't make it through or you will have to go 50% the entire time.

Because of Perry and the comments about P90X, I've decided to start the program again. Lord knows I need to lose lots of fat and gain some muscles. Rather than starting a new thread, I'm going to put my progress here. It will make me more accountable and be too embarrassed to quit or skip my exercise. Okay, since I see you guys as family by now, I'm gonna put weight and measurements so everyone can see my progress.

Lola's tiny!
My husband and son do P90x. We have one of those push up/pull up bar thingies and some weight bands. I don't do it because I am too much of a wuss, but I do get a laugh out of some of the stuff Tony says. It will definitely kick your ass, at least for a while. |
