Baseball Playoffs, 2009
The Evil Yankees may have taken game 1, but I like how the Angel's pitching matches up for the rest of the rotation. It'll go to 6 games (we will lose to CC one more time), but we'll take the series.
Go Halos.

its not over yet, the angels should win at home.
i'm actually in a dilema as i placed money on the yankees winning the american league and the world series at the start of the season, and yet the angels winning it all is more important to me. we'll see. i would like to see the dodgers on the other side rather than the phillies.

Not so much heartbreak here, more like ecstasy. I had stuff to do most of the night and got home thinking I wouldn't see much ball...
You could tell it was going to end ugly. All the pitchers were getting it done, but the fielders were tired, cold, and wet. Assumed crazy start times aside, Aneheim is a better place to play ball this time of year.

Yeah, but even if we sweep at home, we have to go back and take one more away in NY.

I like the rest of the Yankees okay, but Derek Jeter can kiss my ass.

Girardi got out-managed. Yah gotta feel good for the Cali players, if not the hockey toy fans, for ducking the sweep.

its best out of 7, so no one was in for a sweep.
the longer this series goes on, the stronger the angels will get as their batting depth is much greater than the yankees. the angels have more bats than the yankees do. just you wait till rivera, morales and guerero start going yard. this is the world series

The Yanks don't have hitters on the bench but given a choice I take a deeper bull pen over more bats. Aceves is much better than last night showed, it almost makes me think he didn't warm properly expecting the guy with the highest strikeout ratio in mlb to stay in the game.

WTF!?!? Derek Jeter is the most universally liked person in baseball. He's a humanitarian. He's classy. He's cool. He's a great leader. He is one of maybe 5 people that ANY team in the major leagues would sign if they got the chance. How can you possibly dislike Derek Jeter? That's like saying, "You know what? I hate Mother Theresa. What a bitch!"

aybar would be the number 1 choice of any team at short stop. then rollins, and then any number of young up and coming shortstops. jeter is old, there are less than a handfull of teams that would ever consider signing him under desperation. Quote:

Harder to hit home runs in Angel stadium than in the little-league field the Yanks play to. Easier to bunt and run because of how the field crew manages the edges and the dirt. That will play to our game over the next two, and I expect to win them.
Then, we have to go back to NY and take at least one away there. That's going to be tough. Good news is, last night's game was the first time all series that the Angels have looked like themselves.

The umpires either need to get their feces consolidated or they're going to have to ban the replay.
