This is a tune by Sri-Lankan rapper M.I.A. There's a lot of debate on whats actually wrong with the tune. On first listen one would say that it promotes violence. Most assume its about weed. Gangs hear the tune and associate the song with their lives in da hood. The song is #4 in the US charts, its the fastest climbing tune in the UK charts this week. A lot of people are looking into the lyrics and saying she's a terrorist. Quote:
Her Father belongs to a (So-called) Terrorist organization in Sri-Lanka the LTTE(Liberation Tamil Tigers of Elam). She was not permited entry into the US for about a year based on her fathers history(and present). Part of the lyrics do kind of support the Sri-Lankan (LTTE) IMO, the song is genius, tapping into the cash with this catchy tune. Despite the crack-whore-ish style of singing, I love it, whatever the true meanings behind the song are.
