I can remember some pretty harsh winters during my childhood which were a damned nuisance and caused all manner of travel problems but the schools never closed. Schools are closed all around the county today though, which puzzles me. Some good came of it. When I went to the Doc this morning, the traffic was very light and I didn't run the risk of being flattened by loads of kids charging around the place! ETA: High Wycombe, about fifteen miles away, recorded 6.7" of snow yesterday and it was probably about the same here.
