Well it doesn't hurt to try, but you can't just jump in and ask questions, it doesnt work that way.

I'm reminded of a time when a friend of mine's wife-to-be attempted to organize a pool-full of drunken, naked pagans into a rousing game of Sharks and Minnows.

Rather a lot like herding cats, it was. Drunken, verbal cats, who started heckling her partway through her explanation of the "rules."

Sharks and minnows? Sounds sexy in a naked pagan, drunken in the pool, nearly drowning sort of way.

And so what is the new question?

I got two out of five, so can I ask 40% of a new question? The no-research rule is going to sort of drag this thread down, IMHO. There needs to be a time or # of incorrect guesses limit, and then the poser will have to pass it...or something. Otherwise, this thread will turn into "Marvel at Ibram's (considerable) Music Triva Knowledge".

It was Tom Lehrer. Elspode guessed right, but UT informed us that we don't check IOTD enough, and that Lehrer retired from teaching a few years ago.

I defer my turn to someone else. I'm not trying to take control, I just want it to keep moving.

Name the instrument that does the shrill lead line during the instrumental break on "Runaway" by Del Shannon.
