Sure, this sort of thing is always spoken of in terms of not letting other undesireable people breed. Nobody ever realizes it means the government would get to decide if you yourself would be allowed to have children.

It's not about not letting 'undesirable' people breed, it's about forcing the issue of parental responsibility. When people who refuse to accept responsibility have kids they effectively force everyone around them to rush to make up the difference, or in most cases doom their kids to miserable lives. This isn't the government assessing people on an individual basis, that would definitely become corrupt. It's about creating a societal baseline standard which everyone is expected to meet, no exceptions.

Sure it is. It's just that here, you define "undesirable" as people who would make poor parents.

No, because my problem isn't with them having kids, it's with them raising them. They can't adopt either.

If you are fine with them having kids, then why go to the trouble of surgically neutering them? Why not just take the infants of bad parents away from them after they are born and fail the state administered parent test?

First off, this isn't surgical neutering, it's more like mandatory birth control since it's a temporary deal. Secondly, you have a problem with the idea of regulated birth, but would accept the state comming in and seizing the kids as an acceptable substitute? Occam's Razor man, simplest solution is the way to go.

You don't have to cut a guy open to get to his vas to put a clip on it?

And I never said I had no problem with the government grabbing babies from their parents. I suggested it since you said you had no problem with the kids being born.

It's your country though, you do what you want.

It was actually the neutering portion I was addressing, rather then the surgical (there is a hole, 2mm long). Neutering tends to be permanent, this is just surgical birth control. It's simply the least complicated way to address the problem. If you take the kids after they are born then you run into parents lying, keeping the kids locked away (isolation and terrible conditions defeat the entire purpose), and it's alot more noisy and problematic in general.

I would:
Have much stricter rules for coming to my country. You have to send me a short video clip (no more than 3 minutes) telling me why you should be allowed in. Also I would build an entire underground country beneath the real country. In the event of the fecal matter hitting the rotary blade I would move everyone underground. Finally I would be one of only 7 males in my country. In case I have to repopulate the planet, I wouldnt want my children to have to repopulate with their siblings.
