What animal products can be worn? Wool? She said it wasn't fur or hair. Can't be wool. Leather? nope. tortoise shell? Seems unlikely. Besides, that's very western hemisphere. Coral beads? Seems pretty unlikely, also western. The excretion of lac bugs? Do they put that crap in hair spray? I know it's used for furniture finish and is collected in India. Maybe, but seems like a stretch. I won't guess that.

Damn if I know. I'm stumped.

a pearl does not equal body jewelry.

In fact, real pearls are unsuitable for body jewelry, because you're not supposed to get them wet.
