That was a pretty cool night!
Jered Weaver pitched a complete game as the Angels beat tge blue jays 6-1.
The LA Dodgers suffered their first home defeat at the hands of the Nationals of all teams 11-9.
I can predict more home defeats for the Dodgers now that Manny Ramirez won't be around to help out.
The Detroit Red Wings beat the Ducks to even the series, while the Black Hawks beat the Canucks in overtime.
overall, another profitable day.

Cincinnati Reds vs St Louis Cardinals
Cueto - Pineiro

The Reds rested both Joey Votto and Brandon Phillips last night, and they won anyways.
They'll be back tonight to help young Cueto get another win.
Cueto looks to lower his ERA below the 1.00 mark.

Bet on the Cincinnati Reds

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Philadelphia Phillies vs Atlanta Braves
Hamels - Reyes

Hamels is in fact, one of the elite pitchers in the game.
His numbers this season don't agree yet.
I'm not a fan, but I know greatness when I see it.
This kids for real.

Bet on the Philadelphia Phillies

Both the reds and the phillies won.
Cueto was impressive again, maintaining one of the lowest ERA's in the majors.

Boston Red sox vs Tampa Bay Rays

Kazmir faces Lester.
The Rays have dominated against the sox, you can expect that to continue this season

Bet on the Tampa Bay Rays

LA Angels vs KC Royals

Saunders faces Grienke.
The Royals pitcher cannot maintain those kind of numbers? while Saunders will improve.

Bet on the LA Angels

Vancoucer Canucks vs Chicago blackhawks

Chicago is the better team.
That is clear to anyone watching.

Bet on the Chicago Black hawks

Another perfect day as the blackhawks beat the Canucks 4-2.
Saunders pitched a complete game shut-out, as the Angels won 1-0.
The Rays beat up on the Red Sox 14-5 .

Cincinnati Reds vs St. Louis Cardinals

The Reds look to win their 4th in a row, and sweep the Cardinals.
Volquez can do it.

Bet on the Cincinnati Reds

LA Dodgers vs SF Giants

Lincecum is the best pitcher in the game.

Bet on the SF Giants

both game were close, the reds lost, but the giants won.
good news for the reds, votto is back from the flu.
he came in as a pinch hitter and hit a home run.
the man is a phenomena.

pittsburgh penguins vs washington capitals
penguins lead series 3-2

the season has ended for the penguins.
gonchar is their best player, and he's out.

bet on the washington capitals

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

chicago blackhawks vs vancouver canucks
chicago leads series 3-2

the canucks are not only going to be eliminated here, but its time to rebuild.
if they make the right moves, they'll be back in the play-offs in 5-6 years from now.
bye bye.

bet on the chicago blackhawks

Washington pushed a game 7 that they should win against a depleted Penguins team.

i suppose the major leagues need an adjusment or two for young hochevar.
the kid got beat up a little.
ubaldo jimenez on the other hand, pitched a gem as colorado took apart the astros 12-1.
the angels game was close, but papelbon showed who's boss.
the bruins, as expected, got the win against an inferior team.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

arizona diamondbacks vs cincinnati reds
augenstein vs cueto

cueto is pitching with 1.50 era against a pretty weak line-up.
the reds are on fire, this is a gimme.

bet on the cincinnati reds

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

toronto blue jays vs ny yankees
richmond vs pettitte

so what if richmond showerd composure after getting beat up.
he's gonna get beat up again today, but this time, when they leave him in, he'll get beat up even more.

bet on the ny yankees

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

washington capitals vs pittsburgh penguins
series tied 3-3

as i said before last game, the penguins season is over.
the penguins were out of the play-off picture without gonchar.
when he came back, they jolted up to 4th place.
now he's gone... its over.

bet on the washington capitals

guess what... richmond got beat up, suprise suprise, lol.
he couldn't even complete the 2nd inning.
i can't believe how people can believe in this blue jays team, when there are supergiants like the rays and yankees in the same division.
its like.
to give you a better picture of what kind of differences exist between the rays yankees and jays, i'll use international soccer.
the comparison is not for day to day matches, but on the actual pennant race.
the rays would be italy
the yankees would be brazil
the blue jays would be canada
i mean, i would be honoured that canada played against these superpowers, but i would need to be realistic.
reality in the american league east does not show the blue jays in any pennant race this season.
you can dream about canada winning the world cup in soccer, but its not going to happen.
wake up torontonians.

i'm not really suprised that the penguins advanced.
the capitals don't have much on the defensive side read signature.
it really dosen't matter, as either team would lose against the superior bruins.
when it comes down to it, this is a physical game.
if the boston bruins win tonight, they be in the stanley cup final.

cueto continues to impress recording another win, placing the cincinnati reds in 1st place in the national league central!
i did mention something about the reds before the start of the season
Quote:
the cincinatti reds are probably gonna be the most improved team in baseball.
volquez is of the absolute elite pitchers in the game.
arroyo and harang can both win.
cueto and bailey are up and coming.
they hold one of the absolute elite closers in the game f.cordero.
their bullpen can certainly pick them up with weathers picking up the 8th inning.
some would say that their bats aren't that good, but i can argue that by comparing it to the rest of teams in this division [minus the cubs]
the reds are 20-14 so far.
votto is batting .374
lead off man, taveras, is batting .500 over the past 6 games
their power man bruce, has 10 home-runs already.
phillips is back on track doing as he's expected.
this team will not be cooling down anytime soon.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

toronto blue jays vs ny yankees
tallet - sabathia

i pretty much covered this game at the top of this post.
add to that the sabathia vs nobody factor.
but then again, its always going to be, a nobody factor with the blue jays, unless halladay's pitching.

bet on the ny yankees

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

boston bruins vs carolina hurricanes
series tied 3-3

what are we even talking about here

bet on the boston bruins

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

detroit red wings vs anaheim ducks
series tied 3-3

this truly is coming down to stamina.
the ducks in fact, have the edge.
the ducks have the greatest stamina in the league.
plus, they're punishers.
this is a physical game.
games like this, the refs let them play.
both the bruins above, and the ducks have the edge in that very important department over their opponents.
how suprised will you be when the ducks come away with a 1 goal win?

bet on the anaheim ducks

no suprise at all in toronto, as the yankees win.
plese don't misunderstand me.
the only reason that i'm pointing at the blue jays, is because the canadian media are setting torontonians up for a huge disapointment again.
i feel that i'm obligated to inform people of the true reality.
those who truly know this sport, know very well that the blue jays cannot contend for a wild card spot, let alone this division.
the blue jays are what they are, a small time frame of form, against non-divisional opponents isn't gonna change what the blue jays are.
the remander of the season will have the blue jays playing the majority of their games against the tampa bay rays, new york yankees, and boston red sox.
the blue jays have too many holes, and their form will be surpased by these superior teams who will slowly come in form as the season progresses.

the nhl didn't go so well today, as both the ducks and the bruins got eliminated.
i remain suprised at the carolina result, yet, kinda happy for the blackhawks, who can dominate against the wings in the western conference final.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

texas rangers vs la angels
millwood - saunders

these rangers bats don't fair up that well against the kind of pitcher that saunders is.
the angels should be able to generate some runs against millwood.

bet on the la angels

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

san fransisco giants vs ny mets
lincecum - hernandez

hernandez has not shown that he belongs in this rotation.
lincecum, in this park, should have incredible success, despite facing this very good line-up.

bet on the san fransisco giants

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

i usually avoid picking hockey or baseball games, as high percentages a hard to get.
all the experts getting paid to write are mostly under 60 percent, while loads of them are not even par.
we're 24-11 so far this month, picking mostly underdogs.
overall, baseball is looking pretty good on our long term bets.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

san diego padres vs cincinnati reds
geer - volquez

volquez is coming off two 8 inning shut-out over his last 3 games.
i expect him to get another here in this friendly pitcher park against this under par line-up.
on the other side, the reds are the kind of team that would do well in this kind of park.
this is my base for today.

bet on the cincinnati reds

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

texas rangers vs la angels
feldman - weaver

i've been giving jered's starts since the start of the season.
he's holding a 2.45 era and a 0.94 w.hi.p
i can't see those numbers changing much here.

bet on the la angels

i'll give you the pick in tonights nhl game, the baseball picks are for tommorow tuesday

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

pittsburgh penguins vs carolina hurricanes

gonchar will be key in the penguins chanced of making it to the stanley cup.
he won't play today, and if he does, it will be like he's not playing.
if the canes are gonna steal one at the igloo, this is the one.
it pays well.

bet on the carolina hurricanes

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

cincinnati reds vs philadelphia phillies
cueto - hamels

despite both line-ups being potent, these two starters are of the absolute elite.

bet on the under

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

atlanta braves vs colorado rockies

jurjjens - hammel

jurrjens just keeps pitching gems.
atlanta is a pitcher friendly park and the rockies have a weak line-up.

bet on the atlanta braves

so we got the under on the reds-phillies game.
jurjjens pitched a 7 inning, 3 hitter, 8 k game, as atlanta won.
had i posted the picks like i normally do, i would have never given that game based on the very low price....anyhow, we're back on track on with a very exciting day coming up............

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

st.louis cardinals vs chicago cubs
carpenter - dempster

this highly anticipated return of carpenter is what makes today so exciting.
i really want to see this man finish this season healthy.
i'm not a fan of the cardinals, but this starter would put st.louis into contention this season.
dempster has been quite iffy so far....i do expect him to sort it out.
i don't believe the cardinals will need many runs to win this game, so..............

bet on the st.louis cardinals
bet on the under

A perfect day, as the Cardinals won by the score of 2-1 , scoring us the under as well.
Chris Carpenter maintains a 0.00 ERA this season, over 15 innings.

the Blue jays made a little mistake letting this guy go.

His stats in St.louis are phenomenal.
Carpenter's delivery has evolved to a very very high level.
The way I see it... he won a world series in 2006, and took 2 years off.
He's back to win another.
He's the best starter i've ever watched.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

San Fransisco Giants vs San Diego Padres
Lincecum - Correia

Since we're talking about the very best starting pitcher in the major leagues,
2nd best would be Tim Lincecum, who's limits are the sky.
This 24 year old has surpassed almost everyone.
He's got very tricky pitches with very interesting movements.
He's going to dominate almost every line-up he faces.

Bet on the San Fransisco Giants

Tim Lincecum pitched a gem, allowing only 4 hits in 7 innings.
Tim got 10 strike-outs, but the Giants bullpen messed it up in the bottom of the ninth.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

LA Dodgers vs LA Angels
Kershaw - Weaver

After taking a closer look these past 2 days at the 2 best starting pitchers in baseball, its time to loook at number 3.
Johan Santana is normally the 3rd best, but the truth is, Jered Weaver, at this particular juncture, is throwing the ball at a higher level.
i mentioned in his last start how he's getting the ball down.
i must add, the amount of movement he put on the ball at very high speeds in his last start.
Jered is at a peak in his career.
he is almost impossible to hit against.

bet on the LA Angels

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The Angels got the win in the clash of LA.

Atlanta Braves vs Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays will get their 5th loss in a row against Lowe.

Bet on the Atlanta Braves
