This is turning out to be an amazing baseball season.
Despite Volquez leaving in the 1st inning due to injury, the Reds won 5-3!

Toronto Blue Jays vs LA Angels
Halladay - Saunders

This will be the 3rd loss in a row for the Jays while Halladay has started.
A lot of good he's doing for the Jays eh?
In his defense today, he faces a superior pitcher in young Joe Saunders.

Bet on the LA Angels

finally roy gets a win despite having a bad 7th...
too bad for jays fans he only get 1 start in 5.

toronto blue jays vs la angels
janssen - weaver

weaver holds a 2.36 era, and he's looking better now than he ever has.
his velocity is up, his movement is all over the place.
jered is clearly the best starter the angels have.

bet on the la angels

The Angels beat up the jays 8-1, while Jered Weaver pitched a gem.
7 innings, only 3 hits, with 10 strike-outs!

St.Louis Cardinals vs Cincinnati Reds
Carpenter - Harang

Chris Carpenter holds a league leading 0.62 ERA, which most likely will drop even more after today.
I've mentioned several times, how Chris is the best starter i've ever watched.
The truth is, he's pitching his best stuff at the moment.
They won't offer much money on this game, but its a sure bet for a base.

Bet on the St.Louis Cardinals

Chris Carpenter pitched a complete game as the cardinals won 3-1.
he allowed 3 hits, 1 run, 0 walks.
he's as dominating as a pitcher can get.

the penguins won both games against the red wings at home to even the series.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

toronto blue jays vs kansas city royals
romero - grienke

the royals have surpassed the blue jays.
its not just at the major league level either.
the blue jays a-aa-and aaa league teams are a combined 35 games below .500.
the blue jays are at the bottom of the pit in baseball, on every level, and for years to come.... get used to it torontonians.

bet on the kansas city royals

Effin wingless birds!

Rumors are that the red wings are getting tired and slowing down...
I dunno if I see it that way, but the Pens looked awfully scary for awhile there in the 2nd period and then simply shut Detriot down for the rest of the game.

i couldn't believe it after game 2 how ever single person i talked to, had this idea that the series was over.
my response was the same ....
Quote:
you're insane! if they had spilt the first 2 games in detroit...then it would be over.... the penguins will win game 3 and 4 as any games at the igloo will be won by the penguins.
game 5 is up in the air
the red wings are of a certain age.
stamina is not one of their attributes.
they also got the shit kicked out of them in that 7 games series with the toughest team in hockey anaheim ducks.
the penguins are much younger, and a much more talented team than the wings.
if it goes to game 7, i'd say its 50/50.
if the penguins win game 5 .....the its over for sure.

detroit tigers vs la angels
porcello - saunders

saunders looks to rebound from his last mediocre start.
i don't believe he's ever had 2 bad outings in a row.
the angels have been playing all season with 2 starters.
lackey, santana and escobar are back to join weaver and saunders.
you can expect the angels to run away with this division before long.

bet on the la angels

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

toronto blue jays vs kansas city royals
halladay - davies

at this kind of price, you be crazy not to bet against halladay.
the jays have lost 2 out of roys last 3 starts.

bet on the kansas city royals

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

florida marlins vs san fransisco giants
nolasco - lincecum

nolasco is questionable for tommorow's start.
not that it would make much of a difference.
lincecum will give the giants the win.

bet on the san fransisco giants

pittsburgh penguins vs detroit red wings
detroit leads seires 3-2

i don't think that there's a team in the nhl that could be considered favorites going into the igloo to face these penguins.
game 7 up in the air ..it'll be interesting.

bet on the pittsburgh penguins

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

florida marlins vs st.louis cardinals
johnson - carpenter

the price on this is pretty high, due to the fact that the marlins are at home with their 2.63 era starter pitching.
i'm not that big of a fan of johnson's stuff this year.
i predict his numbers will rise to the higher 3's by the end of the season.
as i've mentioned on many occasions, carpenter is the best starter in the majors.
don't be suprised if that 0.71 era goes down instead of up.

bet on the st.louis cardinals

no suprise in pittsburgh, as the penguins go undefeated at home, beating the red wings.
game 7 is up in the air... a perfect scenario for this stanley cup.
carpenter got a no decision, as florida won.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

boston red sox vs ny yankees
wakefield - wang

neither pitcher can be trusted.
the deciding factor here are the yankees bats who out-class the red-sox line up.

bet on the ny yakees

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

texas rangers vs toronto blue jays
millwood - romero

watch out torontonians, here comes baltimore to steal that 4th place away from you.... last place seems innevitable.

bet on the texas rangers

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

la dodgers vs san diego padres
kewshaw - leblanc

this game pays a fortune.
despite some of you being familiar with kershaw, the fact is, leblanc is a superior pitcher.
the dodgers, until manny comes around, should play out around .500

bet on the san diego padres

I believe the Redwings have gone undefeated at home also -
Game 7... flip a coin. (Go Red Wings)

nice pay-out on the padres-dodgers game as san diego won 3-1.
the jays game was postponed due to rain, but we're still on for tommorow, as the same starters should be game.
wakefield beat wang.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

boston red sox vs ny yankees
penny - sabathia

its been a long time since brad penny was on his best game.
sabathia is back to his almost perfect self, and will get the easy win here.

bet on the ny yankees

so texas got the win in that millwood-romero match-up a day late.
the red-sox swept the yanks.

stanley cup final / game 7

detriot red wings vs pittsburgh penguins

detroit is out-classed here... that might sound weird to some of you, but lets take a closer look at who is who......

goalies

detroit
osgood 36 years old

pittsburgh
fleury 24 years old

defence

detroit
lidstrom 36 years old
rafalski 35 years old
chelios 47 years old

pittsburgh
gonchar 35 years old
letang 22 years old
goglioski 22 years old

forwards

detroit
datsyuk 31 years old
hossa 30 years old
zetterburg 28 years old

pittsburgh
malkin 22 years old
crosby 21 years old
staal 20 years old

as you can see, there's a huge difference in age between these two teams.
wether they win or lose this game 7, this stanley cup is about the kids, not the old men.
in the future, when you look back at this penguins team, you'll get a better grasp on how great this team was.
there's no way that the penguins can keep these players...the salary cap will force them to get rid of one of these guys come next season, and then another the year after.

i'll take the future over the past any day.

they have the wings as the heavy favorites, so lets go after the money on the kids.

bet on the pittsburgh penguins

Shuddup! Well I was rootin for the wings for no reason. If P-burg wins then I guess at least the flyers can say they were beaten by the champs.

what a perfect day...
the penguins won the stanley cup by winning away in game 7.
lincecum pitched a complete game shut-out.
the blue jays lost their 3rd game out of the last 5 halladay's started.
halladay got injured.
as i said...perfect.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

la angels vs san diego padres
saunders - geer

saunders has a great chance here at home to patch up his recent errors over the 2nd weakest team in baseball [after the jays].

bet on the la angels
