They certainly have gotten creative since the three years I studied with them. They didn't used to spout that kind of nonsense.

I saw a sign on someone's house that I delivered to last night that read, "We are Catholic...no other religious literature should be left here." I immediately thought of the Witnesses.

It just shows that labels aren't always that useful. A couple local kooks can get the whole group painted as something they aren't.

The Book of Mormon makes for interesting reading. It's exactly as if a 19th century American man had tried to write a bible style gospel ......oh wait a minute...yeah.
Interesting how much emphasis is placed on sin as the origin of racial/colour distinction; also fascinating that the original inhabitants (the real 'Native Americans') are described as white....and I love that the Garden of Eden was in America. Can't recall now, was it Montana or Missouri?

Smith had his um.. "visions" just down the road from here near Susquehanna PA. I actually did a land survey near the ruins of his homestead. They're probably going to turn fleecing Mormans into a cottage industry over there. You see a bus load of believers now and then, all they need is a PT Barnum or Walt Disney...

When JWs would come to the door I would just say "I'm Catholic" and they would leave skid marks with their shoes trying to get out of there. I didn't bother to add "lapsed."

There are some interesting accounts of Mormonism in the book "Shot Through the Heart" which is Mikal Gilmore's account of growing up in the Gilmore family up until Gary is executed.

*waits patiently for stories of locals up-in-arms about "crazies" and their creationist museum warping their kids and giving them a bad name*

Piercehawkeye, here's one guy's answer, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page. Sheldon would like this answer, but Nanimoose's Smut Emporium is pretty equal-opportunity.

Nothing on this page is SFW. In fact, nothing on Nanimoose, period, is safe for work.

Creationist Museum is neither.
It is, in no way a museum, and if it were about creationism it would have representations of creation stories from all around the world and throughout time.
It is a socio-political indoctrination day camp and nothing more.
