All my celebrity crushes are considered strange by my friends and colleagues...

My weirdest real life crush was on a yound lad who worked in my local supermarket. I was in my mid-twenties and he was 16-18. He looked like a beautiful youth dying of consumption in a Victorian novel, and had an air of pallid world-weariness when wielding a mop.

Totally, totally not my type (I like my men big, brash and slightly brutish) and I never, ever go for looks. And yet I would make excuses to wander round Tesco at least 3 times a week and my heart would hammer in my chest whenever I saw him.

I crushed on Mandy Patinkin for a little while for some reason...not when he was young and suave on Princess Bride, but when he was older and gruff on Dead Like Me.

Normal?!? Why, you.... Okay, how about Neil deGrasse Tyson, director of the Hayden Planetarium?

(I actually used to have lunch with him when he was a postdoc at Princeton. My mom thought he was cute, too. A'course, that was 14 years ago.)

Britney Spears is also outside my usual lusting parameters, because normally, I like women with intelligence.

I have a thing for Kari Byron from Mythbusters that is a crush since it is her real personality.
I guess my thing for Amanda Tapping from SG1 is not then.

I'm attracted to a LOT of women. It's either low standards, or it's the ability to find something attractive where others would not. I prefer the latter.
