I don't see why anyone needs to be nasty to either Tink or BigV at this time. No one here is in the relationship or dealing with the situation.

Have some compassion.

How about Long Fat Zen.

Tink, we really only want the best for V.

Specifically, the love we see he has for his kids, and the bum deal that many fathers get from the courts. Men go from living with their offspring, seeing them every single day of their lives; to having them for rationed portions of time - weekends, maybe occasional evenings, the odd holiday. Their financial contribution is the same (as it should be) but their parenting input depends solely on the goodwill of the mother. And the need for their financial input ensures that they cannot have the same flexibility a mother may have when it comes to meeting childcare needs.

I am not suggesting for one minute that this is something that will happen berween you and V. Or that if it did happen it would be intentional. It's just another reason we might worry about V more than you. That and the fact he's a long term poster.

I hope you can both sort things amicably.

There are two sides to the story in these situations.

I feel like BigV opened it up by starting a cryptic thread, and he had ample time to step back in and put an end to speculation. He had to figure she would see it at some point, and I think she was in her rights to set the record straight.

I certainly have no side, but I can see her viewpoint on this issue.

At any rate, I hope things work out for both BigV and Tink.

I made this thread about a week after I made the other recent thread about wishing me ill. When I made that other one, I was inconsolable with grief and confusion and anger. And you guys mostly responded with humor. It's perfectly understandable and after a few days, I was able to appreciate all your efforts to cheer me up--thank you. It didn't help immediately, but eventually I was able to laugh along with you.

So, I had the bright idea of returning the favor by sharing my humor with you. With this thread. The title is a joke. A play on words. Some of you "got it", but mostly it fell flat. Well, if there's one thing worse than a bad joke, it's a bad joke *explained*. Which is where I'm at now. I've been around here for years, and I guess I should know better than to try to be funny. Long time poster; first time joker. Isn't that how the people that call into the radio talk shows introduce themselves? That's what I am here. A joker, and a poor one at that.

I didn't mean to deceive any of you, and I am sorry if I did. I have read through the replies some, and for those of you who are sick of my threads, just stop reading them. I'm not reading yours, and my sickness cleared right up. To the other three or four people left who *do* care, I thank you very much. Your care and your concern for me, for Tink, for our children, is appreciated more than I can express. Thank you.

And for you, Tink, I'm glad you made a cameo appearance here. You were a good sport here, even though the joke was a dud, thanks.

Better stop here.

Don't worry V. No explanation necessary - we all have our moments.

One day at a time, mate.

Sorry V. I was the first person to respond and took you literally. I doubt anyone specifically followed my lead, but it might have stopped people looking for the joke.

We do care.
