British football fan not a couch potato

England soccer fan Michael Mime prepares Thursday to watch
Friday's World Cup quarter-final between England and Brazil
on a bed of 1,050 nails. He will lie on the nails in the street
and watch the game on a portable TV. Mr. Mime said he suffered
watching the English team play in previous rounds, and found
to his surprise that he was able to tolerate the pain of his new bed.

Friendly hint from a Tripod user: You can't link images from a Tripod site anymore.

I might take you up on that...appreciate it. I hate loading images I find directly to the Cellar...don't like to eat up UT's space.

At the moment, I'm waiting to hear from Mr. Ham. I inquired about him hosting Sycamoreland a few months back, and apparently they needed to upgrade servers or something at the time. Dave?

Ze new zerva is a Dual Pentium Tualatin 1.12 GHz with 1GB RAM, 72 GB (2x32) of Ultra 160 SCSI hard disks and 4 gigabit ethernet network interfaces. It is mostly loaded (we've been taking our time on this to get everything right - it's going to be really cool when it's done, with webmail and everything) and will probably be in place by mid-July. Yes, you will have access to web hosting there (and email, if you like, and pretty much everything else, though I'm not giving out shell accounts). Tony had made me a nice offer on hosting, but I've declined (and now that I think about it, this is probably news to him), mainly because we plan to be using a lot of bandwidth and I don't want to be a burden on Tony's pipe. The new location is going to be south (in Texas), but it will be hosted in the same facility that metastudios is on - so if you have good access to metastudios.com, you'll have better access to the new server.
