Who did that?

I heard an alternate version of Gimme Shelter today, on the crappy radio in my truck, that really had merit. It was bass driven but sounded like Keith and Mick. Keith has a different version out there that grooves a little more than the original, but not this much. The radio quality was bad enough that I'm not sure it was the Stones at all. Little help?

Grand Funk Railroad?

Take a look on allmusic. It's a good site for this kind of thing.

That Merry Clayton version was nice. GFR is a possibility but I need to dig up a sample.

I did it. And I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling kids.

Search the Cellar for, possibly a "covers" thread (?) because the GFR version has been posted here, and it is very heavy and bass-driven. Killer version.

Gerry Rafferty died just a while ago. I always loved Baker Street. Will listen to FF's version later.

It's only available in Amish Country, which is why Flint could access it.
