Happy belated birthday Ali - if you're middle-aged at 35 then that says I should be digging something oblong and deep! No way middle-aged - heavens, you're barely past being a teenager!

80 divided by 2 = 40.

According to the OED middle age is "... the period between youth and old age, about 45 to 60."

So you've got a ways to go.

I would think that middle age should be the middle third of one's life. I'm planning to live to 169, so my personal middle age will start at about 58.
