External HD recommendation

Hey folks,

Could someone recommend a good external HD for a reasonable price? It's going to be used to store my mp3s (48 gigs and growing).

Gracias.

I've had this LaCie 160 GB USB drive for over a year now. Zero problems. The transformer is external so there is very little heat buildup. The brushed aluminum case was designed by Porsche and looks like a high end stereo component.

Well, the external hd I just bought from Best Buy was a pretty damn good deal if I do say so. $70 after mail in rebate for a western digital 120gig, usb 2.0, 7200 rpm, and is able to just plug and play, or you can install supplied software to have it backup whatever files, folders, or disks you want at 3am or whatever suits you. Works with Macs too.
My rents have one and I set it up for them to backup their whole hd at 4am no problem, and mine will be put to use once my flippin computer is fixed..

I have a Western Digital 250GB external HD, and a Western Digital 120GB HD. Both are reliable and quick, so I second that .

I use one on a PC, and the other on both a PC and Mac.

Buy a cheap internal HD, and then buy an external enclosure.
Try newegg.com...usually ends up being cheaper when bought seperately.
