As usual, Snopes has got it covered....

...

but.... ::insert slight threadjack here:: they didn't do any REAL research like contacting the company or actually buying a subscription. I like Snopes, but it seems like their quality has been slipping. I used to spend many a lazy afternoon reading their site, but if you look at the What's New page, there's very little of interest there. Maybe they've already responded to all of the really juicy urban legends.

Okay, you can have your thread back now, I guess.

Ya know, I thought about going to Snopes, but for some reason, didn't.

That's alright though...in the end, the scam part seems to be in the money department. The spam can be dealt with, more or less.
