Ohmigod she's gorgeous. Look at those eyes!

Pilau is currently snoozing at my feet. At some point it'[s about time I took another pic of him. But given how much he hates cameras I'm usually loathe to disturb him.

Can't believe what a podge he'd become under his fur. Now it's all been chopped off he looks like a barrel on legs. Poor lamb. 'S not his fault. I'm the one giving him too many guilt biscuits. He just can't exercise like he used to.

Thanks guys. She's a good dog. She's had diabetes since she was 2 (she's 9 now) and I give her insulin shots twice a day. She is now blind for the most part but she still gets around fairly well with the occasional bumping into a wall. I give her an extra pat on the head when that happens.

This isn't MY pet, but I love him so much he may as well be. He is my dog-nephew...the dog-brother of my lovely nieces (dog-son of their wonderful parents.)

What do you note in this picture? Do you see that the dog has a pet cat? Look more closely. THERE it is!

They live on mucho acreage, and have farm cats who hang around, but those are all varying degrees of black and white. This tabby came out of nowhere, and my brother reports the kitten was outside yelling her head off. The middle girl (ahhhh, are not middle children uniquely in tune with living creatures?) pondered that the cat wanted "JIM" (name changed to protect the identity of the Dog...he had his identity stolen last year and it took FOREVER to clear his name of the strip joint/murder allegations) so they let JIM out.

The two have been friends ever since.

Yep..."I wish I could turn and live with the animals, they are so placid and self-contain'd."

Brother says the other cats hate the kitten (he's sure it's racial) so I'm glad JIM is there for her.

Cartoon Animals

On the day the cartoon animals
Reverted to their natural state
All the kids agree, was a sight to see,
When they peeled off the paper and they all ran free
On the day the cartoon animals
Reverted to their original work
They threw off their anthropomorphic ways
And totally went berserk

And there was…
Smoky the Bear, chokin’ on a camper,
Smoky the Bear, chokin’ on a camper,
Smoky the Bear, chokin’ on a camper,
Boo-Boo and Yogi dinin’ in the Dumpster

Well look at ol’ Mickey that dirty ol’ rat
Got a mouth full of cheese and his head in a trap
Donald’s in a Chinese restaurant booth with a ginger glaze and no sailor suit

And there’s Smoky the Bear, chokin’ on a camper,
Smoky the Bear, chokin’ on a camper,
Smoky the Bear, chokin’ on a camper,
Bugs Bunny in the laboratory testin’ mascara

Well Rocky’s just a roadkill squirrel surprise
Only flyin’ bein’ done bein’ done by flies
Bullwinkle’s in the woods far away from here
With a radio collar and a tag in his ear

And Smoky the Bear’s chokin’ on a camper,
Smoky the Bear’s chokin’ on a camper,
Smoky the Bear’s chokin’ on a camper,
Porky smells nicer on a spiral slicer
Goofy’s sniffin’ out drugs at the border
Bambi’s on the turnpike ridin’ on a fender
