Those were black and white college tits.

Black and white college tits don't count. Sorry, I don't make up the rules.

So there's a cellar quilt happening? One square from each dwellar? All sewn by one person, or add a square then mail it on?

Actually, I'd participate in that, and the finished quilt could be "auctioned off" with proceeds going to the tip jar...

I think Pooka's quilt is for her kiddos. I'll donate fabric if a "one square from each member" thing gets going, but you may rest assured I'm not sewing a damn thing myself.

You don't want me touching anything as beautiful as a handmade quilt. Trust me on that.

I would do it, but I'm not very good at the actual *quilting* process. That is, putting it together with the backing and batting. Not real easy with just a regular sewing machine. Now if you just want the quilt *top* put together and auctioned off, I could do that, no problemo.

Wouldn't have to be sewn. You could just do whatever you wanted to create your own quilt square -- iron on applique, embroidery, fabric paint, whatever floats your boat.

Well, just a thought.

blecch. bad sitch. Here are my comments:

1) the fact that this person continues to lie and act defensive means that she knows she has been caught. But if you look at it from her viewpoint--what do you do if you are caught in a lie? Maybe she didn't actually realize the significance of the fabric and started making the quilt, and then was caught. It's as hard to know what to do in that situation as your dilemma, and she has obviously decided to brazen it out.

2) Don't hold a grudge--gah! I can't stand that. But don't sweep it over the carpet either. If you want to wait until Christmas fine, but if it were me, eventually I'd have to go over there and tell her something like, "look, I know you used the fabric and were lying about it, but in the interest of preserving family harmony, I'm letting it go."

and then let it go. No matter what the sentimental signifcance of the fabric is, people and family are more important.

Well it's only 20 days to Christmas, so not long to wait.

On the subject of a Cellar quilt: I will put the top with the batting and the backing. Now we just need someone to volunteer to do teh actual QUILTING!

Could tie it, too. Takes a while but doesn't need any special equipment.

That's very true. We should set up a Cellar Quilt thread and sort out who's going to donate pieces, who's going to put the pieces together into squares (if necessary), who's going to put the squares together, and who's going to tie or quilt, depending on which idea the Cellar as a whole likes better.

Anti-domestic here. However, would you like something soldered, nailed, or sanded?
