So sorry, Glatt. It's always a difficult time, but it's worse around the holidays

My condolences to you all glatt. It's never easy. But it sounds at least like his was not a difficult passing.

The last three weeks were pretty bad for him. He went to the hospital for a MRSA infection, and they gave him strong iv antibiotics. He didn't want to be there, so we got him out on the promise to his doctor that he would go into hospice care. So he went back to the nursing home under hospice, taking oral antibiotics. And because there was now a bacterial power vacuum in his gut from the strong iv antibiotics, the latent C Diff bacteria in there bloomed and took over. That infection was pretty bad. So he was pretty miserable the last 3 weeks.

But it was less than 24 hours that he went from being completely alert to passing away, so it was incredibly quick and painless at the end. It was pretty surreal.

I honestly think that he decided to stop fighting, and just died.
