On the primitve archery forum a guy was asking about how soon after open heart surgery he'd be able to go bow hunting. His doc said 3 months. WTF? Also the guy was 51. Yikes. Then another guy answered and said, he'd had OHS last year and he was up and at it in 6 months or something but he was 30. WTFF? Who has OHS at 30 AND is a bowhunter?

I hope everything goes smoothly for your dad, even though this is the shoulder thread. He should really start a hand thread, just sayin. The hand has a lot fewer heart valves and sternums and what not so he should be good to go. (I'm not a doctor, but I did play doctor as a child)

My dad is 73, and if he had to be cooped up he would go nutso.

Thanks, I'm a little worried. He does a lot of woodworking in the winter, and I hope he doesn't have too much pain. A woman here at work had the same surgery and said it was rough.

Someone born with a heart defect so kept himself as healthy as possible so when the time came for surgery, he'd be in the best place possible?

Well, I did inherit my dad's "asparagus toes" and they're pretty agile. I wouldn't put it past him!

Yeah, they're not green, they're just shaped like asparagus. Or so my mom has always said. My best friend in HS called me asparagus toes.

Are your toes blue, or just round?

it is noted and printed out for reference ,
we have all ready rearranged the living room ,
recliner facing the tv with my left side facing the fireplace ,
1 ice pac in the freezer all ready Plans to snag 2-3 more are in the works ,
now if I can Just stay employed thru all this
