I don't celebrate cultural genocide day.

The Catholic Church and I have *issues*.

Except for the part where the Christians killed off and assimilated the Pagan Irish, St. Patrick's Day is great! I've always felt that the drinking part was symbolic of drowning the guilt associated with the unsavory religious imperalism aspects of the thing.

Ok, shamrocks, green clothing or get pinched, green beer (if you must), leprechaun cartoon figures, etc.

There could easily be less here than assaults the sensibilites.

Happy St Patrick's Day to to all those who enjoy it! And for those who don't, tha's jus' swell--more for the rest of us!

I put on my t-shirt with a clover on it this morning before I remembered it was St. Patrick's Day. Maybe my subconscious is controlling me more than I know.

St Patricks Day, as we know it, is an American Holiday that started in NYC with the Irish solders of King George parading around the streets, in the 1770s.
Up until a few years ago, it was strictly a religious holiday in Ireland, then they realized they could lure tourists and adopted the American style.

patrick, did your day inspire any new pizza delivery stories? or a tale about a certain Ford with extremely low mileage?

Michael O'Brien (a fine lad I work with) gave me one of these and this when he saw my shamrock socks. I know it's a stupid holiday, but I DON'T CARE!

I like smilies today.
