Charge it up! It doesn't take long with the white USB 3 cable and it eats the battery less than your old phone. Promise.

It's already at 65%. Good to hear about the battery. I was constantly charging my old phone. I've often wondered how the pioneers got so much hard work done, hunting and gathering and building and whatnot, what with all the time it takes to charge phones and laptops and tablets, etc.

That's a great idea, BigV!
OK, I don't have many bars and used wifi to set up and I only got a very small portion of my contacts. And it's downloading all my old apps. Then I turned wifi off to see if I could get my contacts. Yes, I have no idea what I'm doing. Is it better to always use wifi when available? I always had unlimited data before Verizon changed it up. Oh lord. Advice needed. Gonna leave the house and see if I can get some bars. No, not 'hit some bars'. LOL |

Yes, WiFi whenever possible. They have WiFi calling, too... But if you are using it, and lose wifi, you lose the call. Happened enough times to me that I disabled that feature

I'm at a restaurant. Logged into their WiFi and can't access anything that way. Turned off WiFi and now can get internet.
Where are the rest of my contacts? Why did my games start from the very beginning? I'm too stupid to have a new phone. |

I'm back home. Tried turning phone off and back on. Went to verizon online to 'activate' phone (which it already said it was doing) and it won't let me. Called customer service and it sounded like I was in a cement mixer.
I may send it back, get a freaking pay as you go flip phone, and be done with it. The last time I upgraded my phone I had all kinds of trouble. Getting 1G, whatever that is, no bars. Called them, did what they said, took it into the store and was snubbed by the bitches working there...finally I accidentally threw my phone into the wall and got a new one with my coverage I pay 8bucks/mo for. Then it worked. Seriously, it shouldn't be so freaking difficult. Then again, why should I ever expect anything I am involved with to work, ever? So I joked to my waitress that I'm too stupid to have a new phone and she goes on to tell me how I'm just like her mom and she tells her mom to quit upgrading and how her mom calls to ask her how to get to facebook. Thanks. Yes, I'm also old but I'm not quite as stupid as your mom...if the phone worked I could get to freaking facebook. fml |

~ settle down now ~
If you are making calls and accessing the internets without WiFi, the phone is activated. Different contacts can migrate differently. Facebook contacts go automatically, Android contacts depend on different stuff. A single poor quality call may result from a lot of different things, some of which will not change with a different phone. |

does verizon still use that myverizon thing? I had it way back when. I was able to download them from their cloud into an excel tab delimited file, then upload them into my blackberry. that was several phones ago. now, google seems to do it automatically.
have you set up you google account on the new phone?

I called my brother and he was like 'what's up' and I said i was testing my new phone and he was like 'are you there? I can't hear you' and was making crackly sounds. Very funny &*@#! Took me a minute to realize he was kidding.
But, sounds clear as a bell now and I like it so far. My Droid 4 looks like something from the stone ages next to it. |

UT, you were so right about the battery power. I'm quite pleased. I really like this phone.
foot, does a couple beers with friends followed by some vodka and diet cokes count for Cap'n Planet? I have never ended up in that position, which I suppose bodes sort of well for me. |
