Who's Dropping Round for a Cup of Coffee?

A cup of tea in our house, naturally.
It's a variation on the dinner party question, but more realistic.

Mum and I were talking like friends last night (yay!) and agreed that we would hate any of the dinner parties that we could put together from our favourite people, because we'd feel overwhelmed, talked over, ignored.
It may be our joint lack of self-esteem, but if you really think it through, I bet you'd feel the same.

We had a good old chat about who might come round for a cup of tea.
Mum says it has to be in a lovely hotel suite, because Vic didn't do a great job on the skirting boards, and there's still the ghost of a bloodstain on the stairs from when Dad fell over.

SO.
One person.
Alive.
One-on-one. Oh okay, you can bring a significant other.

Mum settled on Bradley Walsh. Unknown outside this country, and probably even by many in it, although he's carveed out a successful career in light entertainment.

I dithered.
Then decided it had to be Michael Palin.

Not John Barrowman?
No.
I want a nice quiet cup of tea, some sandwiches, some anecdotes and world-enough-and-time.
And underneath the twinkly exterior a very intelligent and erudite man.

Much as I adore JB I can only imagine interviewing him.
Although I'd love to have tea with his husband, Scott Gill.

My second choice would be Declan Donnelly.
I'm my Mum's daughter.
