wow, just had a minor freak out about my taxes

I looked at my last year's tax return. It said I needed to pay 4 installments of over $1,000 each! Which I totally did not do!

I'm like, WTF? I could swear that last year I had a refund. Now, I'm freaking out because I swore to myself I would never get on the wrong side of the IRS again, and I just spaced these payments? waaaaaa?

Anyway, it took me a while, and some searching through emails and stuff, but I finally did remember paying the whole sum at once. Crisis averted!

Unfortunately, I somehow locked myself out of my bank account today, and can't check it. But I do remember. Really. Sort of! This was the week after my hysterectomy though, and I was still a bit mentally fuzzy.

ugh. Tax bill won't be so high this year (I hope!) 'cause I had some extra income in 2008 that I didn't have this year.

okay, was able to verify today thru my bank account that I paid. Whew! guess that's an "I'm old" moment, since I completely forgot all about that. Or maybe just blocking a painful memory!

Carry on.

I'm worried about mine for a similar reason. I think I owe about $4,000 and I'm afraid they'll tell me I ought to have been paying quarterly . . . any experts? I use Turbo Tax and I'm not quite done with all the little itemizy-stuff yet, down to finding receipts for charity donations and crossing fingers.

Well, I probably should have been paying estimated taxes that year. But I didn't get a penalty notice.

Me too

Why do some of these places think having a crack head, dancing around in front of their store dressed like a statue of liberty will make me want to do my taxes there? I even made a video about it.
