Hey, laugh all you want.

I once saw somebody get their kid cast in a commercial at the Gymboree in Burbank!

Smooth, if I only had three days to see the highlights of L.A., what would you show me? (Barring anything to do with Hollywood, tho...thats a given).

Any time!
Honestly, the weather is hit & miss, but we're a temperate country without the extremes of the US. And although photos of monuments/ buildings look better in the sunshine, there is plenty to do and see indoors.

If you start a thread I'll be more than happy to chip in with as much advice/ information as you can handle. I'm sure our Scots will too.

Amusing aside - an American I met (IRL) told me of a confusing conversation he had with an old Scottish man in a London pub. He was trying not to be offended, but the man kept on about the "fucking tourists", and how they'd ruined the country, how they were no good and how he hated them. It took another drinker to set him straight - the guy was talking about the Tories (Conservative Party), not about visitors to these shores.

May is a good time, imo. the weather is nicer, the kids are still in school, there's a couple of national holidays with their own quaint traditions -maypole dancing, cheeserolling etc, and seasonal attractions should be open by then.

Go to the farmer's market, load up on goodies and wine, head up to the Getty center museum, skip the exhibits, have a picnic dinner on the patio that overlooks all of LA, out to the ocean and the islands.

Drive early morning up the coast to Malibu, walk up the canyons to the hidden waterfall, back down for greasy surfer lunch at Neptune's Net (fresh seafood fried nicely), then an afternoon of basking in the sun.

Music, depending on taste. Maybe Largo, or Hotel Cafe, or the Greek, or Disney Concert Hall. See who is playing.

One splashy dinner out, depending on taste. Either Church & State for french, BLT Steak for grill and steakhouse, or Yamashiro (personal favorite) for sushi.

A movie at El Capitan, where a real organist still plays the prelude, and there is an actual stage show before the film. This is old-school hollywood style.

MOCA to see the Rothko paintings.

Those are the things I would suggest for pretty much anyone. I can get more specific based on personal preferences.

As long as my wife rides shotgun, and you don't mind sitting between two screaming kids in the back seat, sure!
