So what WOULD your avatar be if this site allowed?

Maybe since we can't use them, it would be instructive to have a thread to post --imaginary-- avatars.

Here's the one I usually use, big deal:

Why would it be instructive?

Rubbish, it's only what they want to make people think. What they post tells the real story.

True. Otherwise, what would the pic I would use in my avatar, the pic on my public profile, say about me? That I want to be a Pez dispenser? That I am a duck, of the daffy order?

The profile pic suffices.

sure, but you can't divorce what people want to present the world from their personality.

If you're not interested, don't post. If you want to argue about it, how about the why no avatars thread. I'm curious to see what people might choose.

Certainly can, many people think they really are what they project when it's far from the truth.

How many times do you have to hear it, you don't own the thread. If you don't want to argue, don't.

I do know the answer. Mostly I'm impressed with the photographer for figuring out how to take this picture. Real creative thinking from that guy. Whoever he was.

Yes, yes. I know too, but it seems to soon in the thread to answer.
My Daddy told us the story when he hand-made a zoetrope for us. Bless him, I think we were more interested in Swing-Ball that year.

I'm glad we don't have avatars because I would get avatar envy. I don't have the inclination or resources to find something that would go even halfway to communicating how bloody cool I am.
