NCAA HOOPS

Post your thoughts about college hoops, your team picks, etc...

Well, I don't know about anyone else here, but from my perspective at least, as a student at Wichita State University, I would really like to start seeing teams ranked on skill and less on favorites. I mean, we can pretty much expect teams like Duke to always be ranked towards the top, but when you look at my school, WSU, we've come from an unranked position for over 20 years to being ranked 24.

Even then being 24, we've come from a basically unknown position to beat George Mason the same night they were hanging their Final 4 banner (irony, perhaps?), and just this last Saturday we beat #6 LSU. Now with a record 0f 4-0 and beating those teams this early on, I'm pretty excited and confident that WSU will be doing quite well this year. We made it to the Sweet 16 last year, this year I expect we will go farther.

Duke Sucks.

Go Tar Heels.

That's my pick for everything - UNC.

Go 'Tas!

Y'all must have forgot to mention KU knocking off No.1 Florida on Saturday.

With UNC losing too, I guess that makes Ohio St. No. 1 in b-ball AND football.

I was kinda hoping for an all-Kansas final last year but maybe this year...

cool, the MVC is gonna be kicking some major ass again this year...

not to mention some more mid-major ass!

BTW: keep an eye on Oral Roberts, if they're on, they can beat anyone...

They're on a mission from you-know-who.

They won't be at 7 long... up next on the schedule Ohio State at home and Kentucky at home on Saturday. It doesn't matter what rank UNC has as long as Dook is ranked lower or not ranked at all.

KU stumbled right out of the gate, thus washing themselves of the SI cover curse early. Good move, that. KU will be strong this year.

We're 'Hawks fans 'round these parts, ya'll.

Which poll do you guys put more weight in? The AP or the coaches poll?
AP puts Wichita State at 10, Coaches at 16...Looks like UNC made a big jump also, up to #3.

My alma mater, UNI, just ended Iowa's (my employer) 21 game winning streak on Iowa turf. I normally don't watch much basketball, but this was a fun game. Go Panthers!

Looks like WSU is getting good coverage with their great start to this season. Right now I'm just looking forward to some WSU vs. K-State action this Saturday.

North Carolina #2; Duke #5; Clemson #25; Georgia Tech (also receiving votes - 9). The ACC rules.

Well, so much for this thread.
