New Beginnings

but you ripped out my heart
left me in a crumpled heap
with only my tears to keep

lifting my eyes up to the sky
asking the stars to help me deny
stumbling through the pain
just so much acid in my veins

tasting the liquid salt on my lips
on my broken dreams I slip
raging and flailing at fate
her wicked wiles I berate

oh why me? I rage
you must learn to turn the page
she softly whispers in my ear
new beginnings always start with tears
