Right. People don't splash blood like that. That's cartoon blood. Anime blood. To get a splash like that, imagine a baseball bat swung at a water-balloon of blood. Now, instead of a water-balloon, imagine it's a big towel all balled up, its thick, tough, woven fibers saturated with blood, wrapped in leather, inside a coat. Now how hard do you have to hit *that* to splash blood like that?

Yeah, I don't agree. Here's a frame a fraction of a second earlier, you can see the wadding/sabot/back part/whatever the ass-end of an RPG is called having been ejected forcefully from the tube, *bouncing off of the man* and flying upward. There's no red clothing in sight.

It's blood, I'm sure. And sarge is right, fucking ouch.

I'm not sure this is the MK19. The sighting system is throwing me off.

But, it's definitely cool.

I just wanted to indulge in a little gun talk, here will do.

Anonymoo recently posted about certain events including this bit:

Quote:
2 pit bulls broke through the door of a house... They were fighting in the living room and my .45 didn't even stop them. It took a shotgun loaded with buckshot to put them down
WTF? Isn't that exactly what the .45 was made for, high stopping power at close range?
Well, not exactly, it was more for explosive-laden Japanese on suicide runs, not vicious pit-bulls, but I would think the effect should still work.

Can anyone explain this to me? Were the dogs just that #$%&ing crazy? Am I wrong about the .45?

Maybe a rapidly moving dog is hard to hit in a vital area. Maybe a shotgun is more effective because of the spread of the shot.

What Glatt said ,
Though the spread of shot would prolly only be a wide as your hand or slightly wider

That's part of it. Another equally important part is that cops train and drill on shooting to center of mass. Under stress, they'll often automatically react the way they're trained (i.e. muscle memory). This works fine with people; but, with animals down on all fours that aren't facing you head on you just end up gut shooting them and they can continue on for awhile. Not all cops are also hunters capable of automatically transitioning to animal shot placement. If there was any dog I couldn't stop with a .45, I wouldn't be inclined to tell people about it, I'd be reevaluating my skills in this area.

What a bizarre situation. You're in someone's living room or kitchen. You want to stop the attacking dogs, but you don't want stray bullet holes everywhere, and you don't want to hit the good dog. And the dogs are probably all tangled up in one another and moving around a lot. That's messed up.
