10/26: Mr. Magnetism

This 70-year-old Malaysian guy is called "Mr. Magnetism" - roughly translated. But scientists (the link from Yahoo France doesn't say which scientists) say it's some sort of property of his skin, not actual electro-magnetism, that makes the metallic objects stick to him.

What's the brick stack on an iron on a leash thing?
How could it be his skin? unless its more adhesive than magnetic. Hm. I wonder how he first realized this unique power?

there are quite a few asian persons that have this "trait". it *is* the adhesiveness, not magnetism. notice how he's leaning back a little bit? that's key. they can't hold the things standing straight up (or even leaning over) because it relies solely on gravity + the stickiness of his skin.

saw a science show about it a while back. pretty interesting, nonetheless. children tend to inherit it from their parents. one family has a father, wife, 2 sons and a daughter. sons, daughter & dad are "human magnets" - mom is normal.

That is amazing! Look at how his watch sticks to his arm. I wish my watch would stay on like that. :p

According to dham I might now be able to use my roomate as a utensil holder.

hmm. So really kind of a souped up version of the get-a-spoon-to-hang-of-your-nose traditional thanksgiving trick? But the iron...even with a lean, that's some major sticky sweat.

I wonder when this trait would come in handy....why it has been genetically selected..

Looking again, he kinda looks like hes trapped under a glass top coffee table.

Brings back memories of Yuri Geller. Wonder what he's doing for a living after his 15 seconds of fame.
