Hunstville, AL

For several reasons, I am looking at possibly relocating to Huntsville, AL.

I know nothing about the area surrounding Huntsville.

I'll be looking for housing soon - purchasing a townhome.

Does anyone have any comments on Huntsville - good or bad.

I plan to visit there soon.

Hiya Jana Bridgman! Welcome to the cellar. I've been through AL on my way elsewhere, and unfortunately have litttle to offer to your search for information. Directly.

But your post inspires a few questions--those reasons for relocating, in particular. Maybe if we knew more about those reasons, we could offer more specific information.

Or not...folks here are liable to prattle on with even the slightest provocation, and I'm one of the poster children. Carry on, and good luck in your search.

Welcome Jana!
No personal knowledge of Huntsville... but my company has offices there and the last two people from my division who transfered LOVE it down there.

What a coincidence! My dad might transfer to Huntsville soon and I don't have enough money to stay in Maryland on my own for the time being, I still live at home at 20, pitty me, and I don't have any friends that I'd be willing to share a place with, so I would also like any info on Huntsville...

Hi Jana, sorry I can't help you on Huntsville. The only thing I know about it is that's where NASA's Marshal Space Flight Centre is.

I just wanted to welcome the person who is my order of magnitude user number.

So Welcome!

My mom grew up in Huntsville, and her mother still lives there, so I go there every winter and most summers. It's a nice city, the least 'redneck' city in Alabama, but the schools are horrible (I know, I had to go to one for four months after I was evacuated from Beijing). If you have kids, I say don't do it -- If not, go for it.
